Minerva Productions is a not-for-profit theatre company founded in June, 1996 to give women of all ages and races an opportunity to showcase and expand their talent in all aspects of the theater, both onstage and behind the footlights. The organization offers a supportive atmosphere for the production of original works by women and presents issues dealing with women and their relationship to the world, often in a provocative manner.

Our continuing mentor program encourages women of all ages, races and backgrounds to explore opportunities in the theatre and to expand their knowledge. Minerva Productions receives funding from the N.C. State Arts Council and is a member of the North Carolina Theatre Conference and Arts North Carolina.

Ongoing Projects:
The North Carolina Women's New Works Festival was established as a state-wide event intended to give North Carolina women playwrights the chance to collaborate with The Women's Project and Productions in New York City. Three plays are selected from the state-wide entrants to be workshopped and ultimately produced at Thalian Hall in Wilmington with the hope of taking one of them to be produced off-Broadway in conjunction with the WWP, the preeminent producer of new plays by women in the country.

A Women's Charity Fundraiser is staged each year by Minerva Productions in an effort to use theatre as a means of educating and fundraising for various women's and children's organizations with the Wilmington community. Beneficiaries in the past have included the Rape Crisis Center and The March of Dimes.
